I have seen so many cute cards using this fluffy bird from the “Perched in a Tree” stamp set so picking it for the Fall Blog Hop was a no brainer!

I started off by stamping the bird with Black Memento Ink. I used 5 blends to color him:
* Crumb Cake light for the head Light with a touch of dark; Crumb Cake Dark for the wing with a touch of light for blending; Balmy Blue Light & Dark for the body; SU500 from the skin tones for the beak and feet.

I made sure to use some of the same colors for the background blending from the bottom up Crumb Cake into Pool Party into Balmy Blue for the sky. Then I used the speckly stamp from the Perched in a Trr to emboss white “snow” all over.

The leaves on the front we cut using the leaves from the matching Aspen Trees Dies out of vellum. Then I put the back of the leave directly down in the ink pad to color them (balmy blue & crumb cake). When I pulled the vellum up there was pooling of ink that i really liked so I used the heat gun on low to dry them ASAP. I like the backside with the multiple colors better than the front so I mounted them back side out. I liked the wet look even though they were dry.

Also from the Aspen Dies I used the large tree trunk die to cut the front panel so you could see through the trees to the sky behind it. I used crumb cake and a blending brush to color the trees brown.
The mats are balmy blue and crumb cake. Here is the inside I love stamping an image then putting the sentiment over it.
